Creating a habit of regular exercise doesn’t require special gadgets or even equipments. Walking instead of taking the bus and climbing the stairs could be good enough for most folks. But if you’re bored and want to be on your toe with your results or enjoy using technology to enhance ordinary tasks, there is so many electronic exercise gadgets and digital devices available for everyone!
As someone who likes to keep active every day and workout regularly, I have been searching for a fitness band for some time as I have always wanted to monitor and track all my fitness and lifestyle related metrics such as distance walked, distance ran, number of hours slept, and calorie consumption, i do it not to lose weight but just to know my body better.
So my search began and I found out that there are many fitness bands available out in the market today such as the Garmin Vivofit, Basis, Nike+ Fuelband SE, Withings Pulse, Jawbone UP24 and Misfit Shine, among others. They all have different features and each one of them is styled differently. The one that recently caught my eye though is the Fitbit Flex.
Although there are many other Fitbit style of fitness bands, the Fitbit Flex in my opinion is the best one of the lot as it offers a long list of features making it the most complete product of its kind and the best fitness tracker you can buy. It is also one of the best and most competitively priced trackers available, offering many more features than its competitors, and is priced much cheaper than similar products such as the Nike + FuelBand and Jawbone UP. Alot of my clients are seen with the Fitbit Flex.
Some of its features include the ability to track the number of steps you have taken, your sleep quality, the amount of calories you have consumed, and a silent wake alarm that gently vibrates to wake you at your desired time. The Fitbit Flex also automatically syncs all the data collected wirelessly to either your PC, Mac, iOS device, and select Andorid phones, providing the user with real-time access to all the stats on the Fitbit dashboard at any time of the day.
As I scoured the net in search of the best price for the Fitbit Flex, I noticed that today was the launch of the LAZADA 100 SALE on http://www.lazada.sg/lazada100/. Two days ago i recalled i had a wedding to attend and i had to google to read on people's first experience of a Malay wedding. I even had to question my friends in regards to what i should do or wear upon attending to one, trust me i've had my underdressed and overdressed moments at wrong event, mostly over dressed, but now i am always prepared when i have to attend anything important.
Dress well even if the location is below the void deck , it doesn't matter, dressing up is a form of respect for the people attending that event and for the bride and groom. Obviously if the wedding is in the hotel then don't be to slack, wear something formal, just like how you are attending a chinese wedding, therefore dress for the location.
Malay's are very extravagant, classy and yet modest, therefore try not to show to much skin, a simple dress that graces the knees or a maxi dress for ladies and for men jeans or pants and shirt would suffice for location below the void deck, just because a wedding is below the void deck is doesn't give you a reason to come in shorts and shirts and slippers, marriage is a grand occasion, wherever the location may be.
WHAT TO DO ?
Upon arrival don't just go find a seat, find the parent of groom and bride and congratulate them and introduce yourself after which then you find a seat.
oh oh eat! there is no wrong of right ways to eat, you can either attack the dessert, go for a second serving or eat the whole pot of nasi briyani, i don't think anyone would have much of an issue, but let me warn you, malay food is so tasty, especially all the lontong and rendang and if you never had them before and have a weak stomach, go easy on spicy and coconut laden dishes, but come on its malay cuisine!!
When then brides and groom arrive what to do ? nothing really ! eat some more or watch the performance that is being put up.
HOW MUCH TO GIVE?
So how much to give? give according to the location also and how close you are to the brides and groom, please don't give 20 bucks if your invited to a 5 star hotel for a Malay Wedding because thats the norm if they celebrate it below the void deck, i am sure you are smart enough to do your math and how to cover cost like that!
i really had fun even though i was covered in sweat i had amazing company and witness 2 beautiful people in matrimony.
The stages was set clear and lights were dimmed, An upbeat chant took over the stage, i couldn't describe the type of genre very well , it similar to a loud, mystical thud combination that felt very close to the ancient tribal song and the first model sashayed through the stage with layers of exquisite material, and each and every piece of his collection stood out on its own with shoes that were to die for, yes i m a in my sneakers day in and out but i love my heels, it just make you want to stand up taller and take gentle strides as you walk, the heels were to die for if i could afford them of course.
There was a common colour throughout his entire collection, nonetheless all were daintily assemble and every design had details that i wondered what influenced him when he was designing each piece, i am sure every piece have a story to tell.
If only he was my facilitator for my extra subject that i had to take that was not related to sport back in the day, i had a thing for fashion and design back then but my facilitator ruined it for me, she didn't understand all my pieces i assemble together, imagine if i had Prabal i probably would be a designer by now or sightly more fashionable besides donning 3 inch shorts and top tights that makes my lats spread, which isn't fun trying to remove a bodycon dress or any thing fitted for that matter, When i was a little girl i wanted to be a model! or a hand model, my hands are so dry and ruined, they feel like sandpaper ill just stick what i was made to do for now and just enjoy the fashion scene.
So i was invited by Limaran as a guest since she won tickets from Singapore Airline, no idea how she did it, I'm happy i had to experience a fashion show first hand and rubbing shoulder with Singapore finest socialites, literally because it was so packed! I'm glad i had 2 beautiful people, Limaran and Jason, to spend the evening with whom i know and meet Nellie this really chic street style fashion blogger.
Back on the red carpet..
What better way to watch the first opening show designed by someone born in Singapore. Yes! he finally decided to call New York his home but still a true blue Asian from Napalese parentage, only 35 year old and making headlines designing fashion wears for big names in America. I know he works out, he came running out on stage with a simple white tee that bare his tanned skin and define arms, i can tell half of the ladies were swooning over how charismatic he was after making his last turn to thank everyone. : )
Enjoy the photos below, i stole some photos from the Audi Fashion Festival Facebook because my camera did not do any justice of Prabal work of art!
Some of the item found in the goody bag! i was digging every corner of the bag for a morsel of food or chocolate but found a cute Sally Hansen nail polish love the nude pink colour and ample of notebook to start sketching my latest fashion collection.. hehe
Also love the detail on my jumpsuit, the sequin gave me a reason to accessorise minimally and the cut was so comfortable, it makes looking classy a breeze. A jumpsuit should be a women staple, some basic ones that you can just throw yourself into during lazy days and some fancy one to attend anywhere special.
